The Formula 1 at the Nurnburg F1 GP Circuit ... What a Topsy Turvy race ...
So the Warm up and First lap started off pretty normal just like a normal race ... Then on lap 2 a sudden downpour filled the track surface and it looked more like a river than a Race Course ...
THis in turn sent cars Aquaplaning through Turn 1 , one of which was Hamilton , Other cars were First Jenson Button then Lewis , Adrian Sutil then slid in a high speed spin and missing Lewis by no more than a foot , Both Toro Rossos , Then Liuzzi nearly took out the deployed safety car and tapped the rear wheel of the Recovery Tractor ...
This then brought a series of wired and wonderful events ...
Hamilton had kept the car running and was lifted out of the Gravel , put back on the race track and carried on albeit a lap down on the rest ... Why did he carry on ... Well for some strange reason ( Maybe GP2 experience ) He kept the engine running and so was able to carry on , But similar to a Schumacher incident a couple years ago , was deemed to be in a dangerous place so had to be moved with marshals help ...
The race was then red flagged due to the excessive rain and it was just not safe for the Marshals to be out on the Track with Cars going off left , right and centre ...
So ... We then cut to the Restart ... All cars are going around behind the Safety Car and Mclaren didn't believe Hamilton was a lap down ... He Was so within FIA Rules , He dived up , passed the pack and safety car then dived straight in the pits and changed to Slick tyres ... A decision that proved to be a wrong one ...
He rejoined the race still a lap down and just couldn't keep the car on the road to start with , After a few laps the track had become dry enough to push and he started the comeback ...
The race then turned into a pretty normal one from that point on UNTIL that 3rd from last lap when Alonso would just not leave Massa alone in First place , Alonso then went around the Outside of Massa when Massa tried to block him and Rubbed tyres with the World Champion ...
Understandably Massa was fuming from then on but could do nothing about Alonso that just kept pulling away from him ... But in Alonso's defence that was a Clean and Fair move from him , Plus with Massa coming across to the outside where Alonso's car was he had nowhere that he could have went except the gravel ...
So ... After the Eventful race , Hamilton just 1.5 secs off gaining a championship point ...
