And the latest one is Xbox 360 Ultimate ( Name Made up )
What is the Ultimate and where has this came from ?
Ok Well lets started with where this has came from ...
ProElite from NeoGaf has posted up saying he has heard from His local Gamestop that the Core is being dropped and a new SKU will be added (Ultimate)
SO what is in this apparent Ultimate ?
basically it is the Elite with an added HD-DVD Drive ...
Now this may seem far fetched at first BUT if you look at it , It wouldn't be a bad move ...
So why not ...
Well as you can see it's done by the competition... And Blu Ray is only winning the war over HD DVD at the moment by 10% ,
Another reason why Microsoft probably didn't add it from the start is because the Price (Again look at the competition) PLUS not wanting to lose too many customers that didn't want the Technology ...
Microsoft have already told us that they have no interest in Blu Ray and since they recently dropped the price of the HD DVD Add On , It seems a great time to think about adding it into the console instead of having it on the outside
IF this happened it would leave Microsoft again with 2 SKU's on the market ( That's if the Core being dropped rumour is also true )
This could very well be another one of those chinese whispers Rumours BUT it does seem like a move that could be done ...
