Here is a few tidbits of info on LA Bore ... Sorry LA Noire
- * The game will be a free-roaming title with a historically-accurate recreation of Los Angeles in 1947.
- * Team Bondi has even hired a costume designer to research the clothing of the era so the game's attire can be accurate.
- * Aside from main story, side missions will be based on actual cases pulled straight of the newspapers of 1947.
- * A US Marine plays a big role in the story.
- * Not so exclusive...but LA Noire definitely ain't coming to Xbox 360, the size of the game is an obstacle to this.
Now lets come to the juicy part ...
The game wont fit on a normal DVD so will only release on PS3 via Blu-Ray ...
But here's the best bit ... Do we really care !
This isn't the first time the gaming industry have criticised the 360 for only making use of DVD Technology ..
So begs the question ... Why use DVD and not HD DVD / Blu Ray for the 360 ...
Well for this we need to look over 2 years back ... back when the 360 arrived HD DVD and Blu-Ray were just mere talk ...
We knew about it , but the technology was outrageously expensive so unless Microsoft wanted a PS3 situation the DVD was the most Viable option ...
Next we need to look at , is it really worth it ...
As we can see all the 360 games that have came out on DVD are STUNNING still ...
PGR 3 / 4 , Halo 3 , Moto GP 07 / 07 , Call of Duty , the list is endless ...
All these (And More) do exceptionally well being on DVD ...
So ... Is there a way around the DVD not having enough space argument ?
Well ... yes and no ... Microsoft "could" bring the games out on HD DVD , Now i know your gunna say "Not everyone has a HD DVD Add on for the 360" ...
Well no they don't , so Microsoft "could" drop the price to a very affordable price so everyone could technically buy one OR they could do a 2 tier strategy , Bring out the game in 2 versions , HD DVD Version (All on one disk) and DVD Version (On Multiple disks)
This is just one workaround the problem being raised by La Noire ...
